4th Annual EFAD Nov 4, 2000
POSTPONED DUE TO FLOODING!!!!
Re-scheduled for March 10.
We are pleased to announce that the drought is over for now, but our FEST 2000 was postponed to assure your safety, health, and comfort. The soaked and slippery infield was more than any had anticipated. SHRP informed us at 11 am that plans needed to change. Keep your tickets for the rescheduled festivity (TBA). You were given complimentary entry Saturday at SHRP. We had a reception in the Paddock Room indoors, but had to cancel our Cookers and our meal. Cake and sodas were served, and many enjoyed the clowns, caricatures, and exhibits present.

Visit the EFAD2000 website for photos describing some of the fun we were able to salvage in these circumstances for the estimated 200 family members who did come out. Let us hear from you soon about when you would prefer this to be rescheduled and we will be working this out with SHRP. We regret the inconveniece this may have caused you. Please visit this website for more updates.

Thanks for all you have done and we'll see you soon,
Richard Boswell

HELP INTEREST KIDS IN ENGINEERING

The K-12 Student Relations Committee needs volunteers to make presentations in the school science and math classses to tell kids what engineers do and try to encourage them to go into engineering.

We need volunteers to talk to one class in one school to tell kids how much fun engineering is and what it takes to get into engineering school. Contacts will be furnished if you will commit to calling the teacher to make an appointment, and then go to the school to make the talk.

Talks usually last 45 minutes. Volunteers will be furnished with a script, viewgraphs, and a TV tape. This will take less than half a day's time. Call ROSS KASTOR at 281-933-1904 or 713-743-4385.
