Distinguished Lecturer
The ASME Savannah Section and the
Georgia Southern ASME Section will be hosting a distinguished lecturer
at Georgia Southern University in late April. The topic will be
over race car dynamics, especially aerodynamics. More information
will be posted soon as the details finalize. It is an honor for
our section to host this event, so check back and make plans to
attend!
Golf
Tournament
The Savannah Section
of ASME and Georgia Southern University is hosting a golf tournament.
The Georgia Southern ASME Section is raising money for their trip
to Montreal, Canada to compete in the 2004 SAE Mini-Baja East competition.
Get a foursome together, or come out yourself. Individuals are welcome.
This is intended to be a social event, so there will be a best ball
format. So even if you are just learning the game, come out and
get to know, and support one of your local collegiate sections.
Tournament Awards:
$10,000 Hole-in-one contest!! There will be a hole-in-one
contest on a 175yd par 3 as part of the tournament.
Long drive contest / closest to the pin
Awards will be provided for winning teams. Many
door prizes as well.
Food and drinks will be provided.

Indy Racing and the Effect of Aerodynamics on the Car

ASME Distinguished Lecturer Arthur W. Ebeling has compiled information
on
Indy
cars for nearly a half-century, covering development and changes
to the
sport.
Mr. Ebeling's involvement in various levels of racing spans professional
to
student competitions, and has afforded him the rewarding opportunity
to
observe developments arising from the innovations in racing that
have been
implemented over the years.
Arthur W. Ebeling holds a B.S. from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology
and
has very broad experience in industry, chemical, steel, foundry
and
special
metals. He is the holder of several patent rights in the controlled
pressure
pouring area, is an ASME Fellow, and has served in various capacities
in a
number of ASME units. His latest position was Regional Director
of ASME's
Midwest Regional Office, a position he held for 18 years.

Right at the stop sign onto Forest Drive. The Technology Building
is the
first
building on your left. Use the parking lot in front of the building
on
your
left or the parking lot on your right. All parking lots are open
to the
public
after 5pm. The presentation
will be in Room 2110 of the Technology Building (College of Science
not
Information Technology).
