    The 2008 Contest is scheduled for July 23 -- 27, 2008 and is open to college and high school teams that can meet the minimum design and safety requirements in accordance with the rules of the contest.

    The intent of the contest is to provide an extracurricular activity that will foster a real life engineering opportunity and generate a competitive spirit among young engineers.  The contest will also be recognized in The Guiness Book of Records as a World Speed Record.
