Beach BBQ

There will be a beach bbq at La Jolla Shores “ KellogG Park” held after the day's event on Saturday evening.  This BBQ is NOT a HPS 2006-sponsored event, but is an additional event that all teams and event participants are welcome to attend.  Food and drinks will be supplied and will consist of Hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, corn on the cob, and the usual trimmings.  If you would like to bring something different to put on the BBQ’s you are more than welcome.  This is a non-alcohol event and location as there are posted regulations prohibiting alcohol in the park and on the beach.

This park also is close to a good place for shore diving and swimming if participants are so interested.  If you are interested in a shore dive PLEASE bring the equipment that you will need as it will not be provided at this event.  If you need to rent equipment there are several dive stores in the local area that can meet your needs.  The parking lot for the park closes at 10:00 pm but there is street parking if you would like to stay longer and enjoy the company of your fellow participants, friends, and family along with the local beach and what it has to offer.
 
This bbq is an after event that was started in 2004 as kind of a little get together between a few of the safety divers and a couple of the teams to just kick back, relax, and enjoy some evening diving and some good food.  This first attempt quickly grew in size and had a much larger and friendlier turn out than was expected so at that point it was decided by the originator that he would try to set it up each year as a special welcome to the teams with the hopes that all who come to HPS each year will have a great time on the beach.
