Who are we?

PYE is the Philadelphia Young Engineers. Julie Bachmann and Garrett Herning formed PYE as a professional young engineering group with the help of the Philadelphia ASME section in December 2005.

What is our purpose?

PYE is designed for graduates within the last ten years in the greater Philadelphia area with a focus on social activities, networking opportunities and workplace development issues. The transition from the classroom to the workplace can often mean large changes in social circles, location and professional expectations. This organization is geared to help with that transition.

Who can join?

This group is currently open to Engineers that live within the greater Philadelphia area who have graduated in the last 10 years. Members are encouraged to bring co-workers and friends to events. Membership in the PYE is free, however, some activities may require admission fees.

When are events?

PYE tries to hold monthly events around the Philadelphia area. Most events are usually on a Friday night (if we have a happy hour) or on a Saturday afternoon. We normally take a poll to see what weekend and day works best for most people.

How do you join?

A Yahoo Groups e-mail list has been established for members to register on and is used to inform of announcements and give polls on events. Please sign up on the e-mail list, as this is the primary form of communication for members of PYE. To sign up please enter your e-mail address in the Subscribe box below.
