4th Annual EFAD on track for
Saturday March 10 !!
We are pleased to announce that the drought is over for now, but our FEST 2000 was postponed last Fall to assure your safety, health, and comfort. The soaked and slippery infield was more than any had anticipated. SHRP informed us at 11 am that plans needed to change. Keep your tickets for the rescheduled festivity (Saturday March 10). You were given complimentary entry Saturday Nov 4 at SHRP. We had a reception in the Paddock Room indoors, but had to cancel our Cookers and our meal. Cake and sodas were served, and many enjoyed the clowns, caricatures, and exhibits present.

The photos below describe some of the fun we were able to salvage in these circumstances for the estimated 200 family members who did come out. We regret the inconveniece this may have caused you.

Your Fall Fest 2000 tickets and ticket stubs are still valid and you may purchase additional tickets for the full featured Spring Fest 2001 as noted below or at our check in table..

Thanks for all you have done and we'll see you soon,
Richard Boswell

Govenors Proclamation Greetings: Welcome to the Fourth Annual Engineers' Family Appreciation Day. This November 4 event in Houston provides a great opportunity for engineers and their families to enjoy time together.

Engineers play a vital role in many critical industries and projects and must often travel to distant locations to fulfill job duties. I commend the event's sponsors and organizers for providing a time of relaxation and recreation for these dedicated professionals and their loved ones. Your efforts support families and strengthen the community.

Laura joins me in sending best wishes for a fun-filled and memorable event.

Sincerely
George W. Bush

Last year's story: Engineers' Family Appreciation Day 1999

Mission Statement

Engineer's Family Appreciation Day activity is intended to honor all engineering families and provide an opportunity for them to share fun time together.

Engineers play a major role as the designers and implementers of the technology that fuels the world. The Texas Gulf Coast prospers from their endeavors. These Engineers work in diverse careers in the Houston economy. They have made major contributions to the development of the petroleum industry and would not have been able to achieve this without the support and encouragement of their families.

Objective

An objective of the event is to share the proceeds with the hosting organizations to benefit their educational programs such as local Science Fair Special Awarding.

EFAD will provide an opportunity to publicize the important role of the engineer in our community.
