| Student
from the School of Engineering placed third overall in the single
rider class in an ASME sponsored Human Powered Vehicle (HPV)
competition held at the University of Missouri at Rolla on May
2-4, 2003. The competition involved vehicle design and vehicle
sprint (race). Fairfield placed fifth in the design portion
with 13 schools competing and placed second in the vehicle sprint
competition in a field of twelve. The University of Missouri
placed first and the University of Buffalo placed second overall.
