  • 4th Annual Dayton Engineering Sciences Symposium - This year's Dayton Engineering Sciences Symposium was held on October 27.  The symposium is an annual Dayton ASME event designed to facilitate communication between members of the regional technical community, as well as to provide a forum for students (both undergraduate and graduate), researchers, and engineering practitioners to present their work.  This years symposium was an outstanding success and featured 98 technical presentations in 20 sessions spanning a broad range of engineering science topics, with a special emphasis on Energy.  The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. William Harrison, the Technical Director of Fuels and Energy for the Air Force Research Laboratory's Propulsion Directorate.  The keynote presentation was followed by a panel session where experts engaged in a lively discussion to cultivate a greater understanding of energy issues, present challenges, and future opportunities for the science and engineering communities.  We would like to thank everyone who participated for making this event possible, especially our industry sponsors.  You can find additional details about this year's event at the DESS website, such as a list of the abstracts presented,  the symposium program, and photos from the event here:  http://www.cs.wright.edu/~asme/DESS.htm
